A season where he forgets how to smile
Some days he feels like a child
Lost in his own world trying to find his way back to reality
A reason for grace and self-care
Falling, he gets back at up every time
Life-Alert in his spirit, he sparks his lifeline
Nothing is ever too hard or difficult
He bounces on challenges and completes all his somersaults
Living in the moment gives him some flexibility
Cold weather tests his inner resiliency
Huddled in his shell
Listening to Santa swing by and jingling his bells
The levels of his soul shake and his heart begins to swell
Day by day he takes his time to learn
Attracting bits and pieces to build his peace
First going through torment, sharp rocks under his feet
Lukewarm food is sometimes hotter than how he feels
Relying on his senses to ensure he still feels real
He’s striving and has faith he will keep thriving
Farther into himself he’s diving
Seeking that beautiful treasure the Lord has promised him
He realizes he can breath under water
Excited, his lungs grow to be larger
And so does his heart
He swims on.
